To get a Library Card a patron must be a resident of Warrensburg or Thurman, NY OR own property in either town, if you are a summer resident.
You will be asked, and/or provide, the following information:
- If you are a current Library Card holder with any member library of the Southern Adirondack Library System or the Mohawk Valley Library System; IF you are, your current library card is honored by us;
- A valid I.D. such as a current State’s Drivers License with the correct address listed;
- If you are a summer resident, you must also supply a copy of a current utility bill, cable bill, or anything with your summer residence address listed;
- A current phone number, either landline or cell or both;
The library card issued to residents is good for 3 years; summer residents’ cards will expire every October 31st of the current year and MUST be renewed each year you return to the area. The cards are free and if lost, there is no charge for a replacement. However, if it is the 2nd replacement, you will be charged a $1.00 fee. You may not have 2 cards in any one system OR 1 card in each system.
We honor all Library Cards from member libraries within the Southern Adirondack Library System or the Mohawk Valley Library System. However, upon checkout, if you have fines over $5.00 (for adults) or $2.00 (for children) we cannot proceed with loaning you materials.
